The preschool began in the fall of 1995 as Canby Cooperative Preschool. In spring of 2002 the preschool separated from the Canby School District and became Canby Community

Preschool. The preschool is designed through a cooperative effort to include the thoughts and opinions of parents, staff, and community members. As a parent cooperative, responsibility is shared by all member families to ensure a successful ongoing program.

The goal of the Canby Community Preschool is to provide a balance of experiences for preschool children to promote physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development. Parent education is an important element of the program.
