I am looking forward to another great school year. I was on the very first parent board when the preschool started so when I was hired it felt like a homecoming. I believe very strongly in the co-op system, not only for the children but because of the positive impact on the whole family. It has been my experience that the parents who are involved in preschool will continue to be involved in their child’s education throughout high school. Children get the message loud and clear that education is fun, exciting and very, very important.
In my classroom I promote the concept that play and freedom to explore provide the preschool child with the opportunity to develop emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. I strive to promote as many child directed activities as possible.
I have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and a Bachelors Degree in Human Development with an emphasis in ECE. Before working at Canby Community Preschool I worked for ESD in the early intervention program.
I have one child who attends Canby High School and another child at OSU. My husband is a teacher at Wilsonville High School. My hobbies include running, hiking, gardening and any other outdoor activity available. I look forward to meeting you and your child.

A warm welcome to new and returning families from Teacher Anne! I am so excited to be teaching at Canby Community Preschool. My children are alumni from the program, and I fully believe in the benefits that the co-op atmosphere gives to the parents and children. If you are new to the program you will see early on that this is a unique and rewarding experience, and if you are a returning family then you already know how special it is. I am really looking forward to having fun and learning with your children this year and in creating cooperative relationships with all of you.
I would like to tell you a little about myself. I graduated from OSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Botany and Plant Pathology. Before I had children I worked at the VA Hospital studying the effectiveness of cancer vaccines. This is my first job outside of the house in several years as I have been raising my children and watching others in the interim as a nanny, a daycare operator and a babysitter. I have surrounded myself with children of all ages.
I love to dance and you can often find me tapping my feet and shuffling around to almost anything that resembles a beat. I like to color and create and sing and explore and learn. I make a fabulous pretend lemon pie and wait until you try my pretend chocolate chip cookies! I like to hike and camp and be outdoors. My husband, Christopher, teaches Social Sciences at Canby High School and my children attend Lee Elementary School.
I am so happy to be here and I will do my best to treat each of your children according to their own unique personality, progress, and ability.
